Home in Greensville

For some reason Evangeline calls Greensboro Greensville.

Anyway, we made it home after a long trip which Evangeline dutifully slept through.
Irene slept about an hour the whole time.

We are happy to be back to the Grey House, but already missing everyone in Alaska.

The Home Front

The Days

Grandma bought some purple decorations at a garage sale, so
Evangeline immediately organized a dance/birthday party.
Irene was into it.

Party at Ellsi and Maci's

We went over to Ellsi and Maci's yesterday. Had lunch, had a great time, left when 3/4 kids were crying. Incidentally, Evangeline calls Maci "Mice-ee" is that an accent? Oh no.

Irene's first costume choice.
It is lovely when one daughter still wants to be a care bear and
one is on to pretty princess.

Irene thought dad might like this.

Swimming Lessons II

I took Evangeline to her swimming lesson yesterday because her grandma had to work (at the pool, too). As will happen when moms are present, Evangeline became "too shy" moments before her lesson was to start. She cried for the first few minutes, then stood on the pool deck and watched for about half the lesson. Then she jumped in and had a high-five-filled lesson and she was disappointed when it was over. Sigh.

Excitedly modelling her Dora suit before lessons.
Watching Piper and Nigel.

She won't cross this line.

Swimming Lessons

The last few days have been rainy, so it was the perfect time for Evangeline to start swimming lessons. Her teacher is Mr. Nigel, and fellow three-year-old Piper is also taking lessons with her. I didn't go today, but Grandma's report is that Evangeline did everything she was supposed to, had fun, got her head under the water, and even jumped off the side to Mr. Nigel. Evangeline's report is that "I think Piper was a little bit scared".

Eating toast and eggs before swim lessons to get lots of power.

They had to be ready, sitting on the side by 10 am.

This is not Irene in the background. It's Piper.

In the kiddie pool with Nigel.

Into the deep water!

Evangeline's pretty proud of the high-five she got for jumping in.

Also, a few nights ago Irene decided she wanted to sleep with Ämmi. She did.
Ämmi is actually pretending to be asleep here, as I woke her up
sneaking in to take a picture. Irene is sleeping for real.
