Coast To Coast

After a long plane ride (Evangeline was her usual good-travelling self) from East to West, we landed safely at the home of Amy, Ryan, Ollie and Ruthie. Hooray for cousins. Tomorrow Evangeline, Ollie and Ruthie shall all be under my watchful eye.

Doing her plane thing.

bon voyage

Evangeline finds herself once again being flown across the country to meet yet more family. She and Ruthie are going to pep each other up towards the common goal of becoming mobile. Meanwhile, dad sweats it out in Greensboro. Still hot.

Vendredi

Some of you may know that we uphold a little something called Pizza Friday. We went somewhere last week, and weren't distraught over it or anything, but also thought we could do better. So tonight we went to the "Mellow Mushroom." The only thing wrong with this is that it is a chain. I would rather have something small. It was good though. Evangeline got to take a second swing at the high chair, and succeeded once again. It wasn't a fluke. We have an honest to goodness high chair utilizing child here. Congratulations kid. Additionally, we discovered Evangeline was standing in her crib today, holding on to the sidebar. So, we had to lower the bed to the bigger kid level.

Yes... Skypeing is fun.

Mike and Carol stopped by today as well on their way to somewhere near Fayetteville. During their brief visit, they got to see nearly everything that happens during a whole day with the girl. She cried a little. She was cute alot. She read a book. She sat on the floor.

Anyone else who happens to be passing through Greensboro is welcome to visit and read a book to Evangeline.

Too Too Cute

A tutu for you (to grow in to).
Look ma...
Kyle thought it was funny when he noticed that she had grabbed this somewhere along the way. She thinks it's no big deal.

In other news, Evangeline went to sleep surprisingly early tonight. Either she's really tired or planning an early, long day.

Wait, Evangeline! You're not to crawl until after our trip to Portland.

Teething

Evangeline's really not doing it. There have many been times (a day) when I was more than sure she'd sprout a tooth any minute, but here we are at almost 8 months old and not a tooth in sight. But that doesn't keep us from learning this:

Hey, I'm doing my best here.
Teething biscuits are messy.

Oh and ps:
Still diggin' the software.

Evagneline Hits Greensboro

The day started out as usual:
Then we went to the library and strolled around downtown, since the weather was only in the low 90s...ha ha...
Just outside the library
Cooling off in the park
A lovely downtown
Famous Woolworth
In the evening we went out for pizza and discovered that Evangeline does very well in a highchair:
Listening politely to the specials
Hey, wait a minute...

Not quite as tall as a Presbyterian church across from the restaurant
Knockin' on Calvin's door.
Back home relaxing after a fun day.
Evangeline thinks she'd like to look around Greensboro more when it's not so hot out. I'll have to agree.

I Tried.

Here is Evangeline "playing" with the "new" "toy" i "made" her...
All the quotes above mean that I just tied a bunch of ribbons around a receiving blanket (very securely). Evangeline loves ribbons and tags, and plays with the ribbon around her sock monkey's neck for about an hour a day. So I thought I'd really knock her socks off with this one.
What am I supposed to do with this thing?
But, she was rather unimpressed and politely played with it before grabbing this:

Where have you been all my life?
and playing with it practically all afternoon.
I tried.
