Evangeline ο πρεσβύτερος

"Yeah dad... your office is just the place a baby wants to be. Maybe you could get some more papers in here. Can you at least give me a Baby Mum-Mum if you insist on me being here?"
"Really? I get to go to a meeting?? Thanks Dad!"

I took Evangeline for some real fun today. We swung by church, and found out that there was an elder's meeting... which I somehow had not known about. So, we stuck around, and she got to sit in on her very first church meeting. This was exciting for her. She loved the talk of reorganizing zones and how to let people know who is in what zone. She had some really insightful opinions, but these were filibustered by a part of the elders who stand firmly against infant participation in the board of elders. After several hours of talk about what constituted an "elder", it was agreed, after much careful exegesis, that the presbyters in the New Testament are most certainly more than one year old, thus barring Evangeline from participation. She responded to this rejection by sucking on her foot. I must remember that most people don't like meetings as much as I do.

But really... I don't intend on ever taking my kid to church meetings. She just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

Today's schedule:
Farmer's Market
Nap
Corn
Bed.
(and some fussiness, laughing, installation-watching, grilling and diaper changing in between)

Serious outside the market.
I had her nap on a pillow since she has a cold. She's pretty good at it.
Kyle says this means she's a midwestern girl at heart.

Today?

Was there a today? I assume there was, but it really just slipped by.Then how can I be so tired? Evangeline is in bed, and I didn't take any pictures (though Amy already sent my camera back), so here's one more short video from Portland. Good night.

(when we were in Portland two and a half years ago, Ollie was going crazy in this jumper. Evangeline was a little less impressed with the jumping and more with the construction of this rig)

A Little Lunch

Here's a rather uneventful luncheon scene from Portland.

Cold In North Carolina

Or at least Evangeline has a cold. Unable to find the humidifier, I did the next best thing: opened the window. Greensboro humidity comes in handy for once.

Dillicious

While we were out for lunch with Amy and Ruthie, I decided to give Evangeline her first taste of a dill pickle. The results were as follows:
And that's it. No face, no surprise. Just that. Oh well. Then I turned to look at Ruthie, who was happily gnawing on a lemon slice. I get it.
