The evidence is piling up that Evangeline is more kid than baby. Today she climbed UP the slide, which is a total mark of kid-dom.

Katie was really concerned about Evangeline's blatant disregarding of the rules.

Katie all the sudden realized that she couldn't really curb anyone's behavior,

much less that of a 21 month old.

Saturday Morning

Actually it's Thursday morning, but it's kind of like our Saturday morning because it's Kyle's day off and he and Evangeline let me sleep in a bit and even take a shower. When I got downstairs, I found her happily munching a piece of bacon with her boots and sippy cup on the sofa. That's a nice Thurs/Saturday morning.

Dad also lets her listen to his music.

Evangeline got some new rain boots today. She did not want to take them off.

They really help when you are spying on the neighbors.

So, on Sunday mornings I usually get up a little early so that I can go to church and get everything ready. Evangeline got up early today too. While Grandpa and Aunt Jessie were getting ready to run the Chicago Marathon, she thought she would get a little cleaning done. Yeah, its all totally normal.

Catherine's first walk.

We went to our normal walking ground with Catherine. She kept up pretty well, but she definitely isn't a distance runner. Evangeline had a good idea of how to help her finish the loop.

We are now "those people" with the dog in the stroller.

So...

Today Evangeline learned that dogs really just lounge about all day.

Catherine the Great

We got a dog. Her name is Katie and she is a chihuahua beagle mix. We decided that naming her after Katie Luther would not be good and she would just boss us around all day. So instead we will refer to her as either Catherine the Great, Catherine of Siena or Catherine of Aragon. She just got spayed today so her energy level is kaput. Evangeline alternated between ignoring her and wanting to pet her eyeballs.
