We also attended the LWML Christmas party. Yolanda pulled out a clown that had them both mesmerized for several tens of minutes.
And today Evangeline kept waiting for Millie, Geo and Bot to show up, so Ellee went and fetched them for her. She somehow got us to let her eat spaghetti and watch it for a while, along with bumble bee antennae.
I took Evangeline to a real school today to see Jayla's living wax museum in which she played Martin Luther. She was great. Other historical characters were Ulrich Zwingli, John Calvin, Albrecht Durer, Ignatius of Loyola, Pope Leo X, Pope Julius II, and Pope Alexander VIII. I provoked the three popes against one another into a feud over who was the greatest. They decided that Alexander VIII was probably the best. Martin Luther (there were two) also had a mustache, and John Calvin apparently translated the first English Bible. Evangeline was mostly scared of all the false beards.

Ice Skating! 1&2
We went ice skating. Grandma and PopPop sent Evangeline some sweet new double-runner blades, and sent me my ice skates. Evangeline has been talking about ice skating for about 2 months now. Most of it goes like this: "I going ice-kating! I go woah-woah-woah, boom! Then I get up and try again!".
So, our first attempt at skating in downtown Greensboro (largest outdoor rink in North Carolina!) was a bust. It had been raining plus 65 degrees, which is not a good recipe for ice. The next night, though, it was on. And here are the pictures to prove it.
Ps: Evangeline is very excited to go skating with Baba and Grandma at Christmastime.
Oh and Evangeline was so worried as we looked for a parking spot to go skating, she kept saying "There's a nice spot...there's a nice spot...Mom, do you have my gloves?"

Our first try at ice skating sent us over to the giant Christmas tree.

Greensboro, you are really pretty. (So agreed a home-insufficient man as we were enjoying the sights)

No ice skating? Just go for cake and "coppee"!

Evangeline took this moody shot of Irene.

Irene's got 5 teeth now. But she'll only show two.

Wow! In time and all.

Nutcracking
Ellee started a new tradition and took Evangeline to the Nutcracker tonight. If you ever need a two (almost three) year old to give you running commentary on a two hour long ballet, let us know. She also provided quite a bit of insight into last night's performance of the Messiah, of which mom sang. Yes. Mom is singing. No, she isn't singing now. Yes, they are singing more. No, its not over yet. Yes, there is a bit more. What's that guy doing? He's conducting the choir.

Sickness Update
Evangeline only threw up until 6am. Then I took her up and slept with her in the grandparents bedroom until a luxurious 9am (well, sort of slept, but I was pretty nervous every time she coughed or moved) while Kyle watched Irene and took her out to the Farmers' Market. So far no one else has shown signs of sickness.
Oh and it is my birthday.
(I got lots of nice calls and gifts and thank everyone so much)
