Happy Valentine's Day!

Thanks to the grandparents for sending flowers and goodies! Evangeline declared everything "so beautiful" and this to be "the best Valentine's Day ever!". She also told Irene all about the conversation heart candies and how they used to be her favorite when she was a little girl.

The last picture is from freezing cold yesterday, and Kyle has titled it "Bucket of Chicken".

No spring

Even though we had a nice 68 degree day here this week, it appears to still be winter. The warm day tricked the girls into playing outside all day, running through the sprinkler, and thinking that the start of February was the start of spring. Now we are bundled up again, remembering that day so long ago when swimsuits were donned. That  was three days ago.

Yesterday, Evangeline went for her 5-year doctor visit. She weighs 42 pounds. She was a hit at the office, due to her sweet, cheerful disposition and entertaining stories. She also got four (4!) shots. The nurse told us she is the first kid who hasn't cried or made a peep during the shots. I was pretty proud of her bravery. Her next shots are at age 11, which seems like a lifetime from now. On the way home she said she was going to be a doctor and invent shots that don't hurt so much. I'd be up for that.
