Because Kids Love Vegetables

They really do! Evangeline made this astute realization while we were picking the last of the summer vegetables today: "Mom, we don't have to go to the store now!" And, poor Pop Pop worked so hard on the garden and he's missing out on the harvest. Hopefully there will be more to pick by the time you get here.

Agnes is 4 months old!

We made it!

We had a long but good trip (Evangeline and Irene slept for approximately 6 minutes the whole time plus the 20 minute plane ride--after which the flight attendant had to carry Irene off the plane because we couldn't wake her up...). [Thanks to uncle Jim for the extra special arrangements. It made everything so so so much better. ]

We are at the homestead, getting ready for a couple of weeks with just us and Ammi. She is already out getting Agnes some diapers.

Ἁγνὴ

We got another baby.

Agnes Lucy Elina was born and baptized on May 12, 2015.

She is named Agnes (Ἁγνὴ), to go along with Evangeline (εὐαγγέλιον) and Irene (Εἰρήνη).

She is named Lucy after Kyle's grandmother.

She is named Elina after Ellee's namesake and great-aunt.

I was not in any condition to do anything, so I called our dear friend Pastor Josh Haugen to come and baptize Agnes.

Agnes spent the first few days in the NICU.

There's nothing like seeing your daughter for the first time and she's got tubes and wires all over her.

Meanwhile...

Freed from the tubes and wires, I was finally able to get in some dad time.

The girls are excellent big sisters.

Evangeline's ballet recital.
