Lucy's Cat

Today Evangeline and I had a little Santa Lucia day celebration. She wore a wreath hat for a while and then we made some Lussekatter buns for the folks at church. She destroyed her wreath before she was to wear it after church. But she was good at placing the raisins for eyes in the buns ( pictures available once we get computer situation worked out).

We are having some trouble with the real computer, so here is a quick update for you readers out there. Irene had her one month check up and is 11 pounds now, which is apparently in the 96th percentile. The nurse had to reweigh her because she didn't think she looked that big. Her head and height aren't nearly as impressive.

In other news, Evangeline likes to help us out be letting us know when the baby is guyying (crying).

Real Bath

After honing her skills last night with her doll, Big Sister strikes again:

We promise not to dry you in the dish rack.

Earlier in the day, Evangeline supervised the making of a chicken run.

Finally, here's a little video. We realize the time will come when Evangeline will cave in and just say "water" instead of "booyee". So we thought we'd try to record it. It sort of worked.

Baby Bath

Evangeline gave her baby a bath in Katie's water dish.

And, the next day, they found themselves still sisters and still lovin' it.

Sœurs de la Miséricorde

Irene had a little crying  bout tonight, but her merciful sister came and comforted her. She gave her a good long hug, and then lay down next to her for a while. I think it actually makes Irene feel better. It certainly made her stop crying. She did it a little later when she crying again. Evangeline is a very sweet girl who loves her sister.

When she isn't participating in acts of mercy towards her sister, she spends time with this magical tree. Owls seem to be pretty ubiquitous among children's stuff, but I have yet to see a real owl in the wild.

Also, here is a sampling of what was going on with Ellee the past few days. It was much worse (imagine all of these welts fusing together over a person's entire body...or don't.) than this photo tells... but it still looks pretty bad. It was りんご病 after all!.
