Kyle would be wise to post some pictures from his Epic Crusade to Alaska, but all we knew on this end is that he arrived with Josh, and we were so so so happy to see him. While he was gone, Agnes decided to roll over, Evangeline learned to ride her bike, Irene graduated up to a bigger size bike, and I just tried to keep myself together. Look, we've been "on the road" in one way or another for 4 months now! I like temporary beds and suitcases just as much as the next mom, but...
Two days and a few saunas after arriving here, we all went up for Kyle's installation. He was the "Guest Preacher" at the morning service, in which he baptized a baby, then held Bible study while the girls gleefully trotted off to "High School" (Sunday School), and then was installed later in the evening. It was a joyous event with loud rain on the beautiful window during it. The choir sang, a trumpeter trumpeted, and he was made official. Afterward there was a lovely, huge spread and much laughter and kids running around. A great day. Perfect evidence of our merciful and loving God.
The not-so-great part is that the girls and I had to come back to my parents' instead of hopping over to the parsonage, as the flooring is going in two weeks from now. So....here we are still in a little bit of limbo, but trying to patiently and happily wait for our house to be renovated. The days are getting shorter and colder...though we did not have the snow Kyle experienced in Anchorage today. Luckily I bought him a coat before we left Anchorage. The drive from Anchorage was still brilliantly yellow, and we are enjoying fall while anticipating moving to our new home and getting to know a new city.
