Result!

Asking Evangeline to bring me the blue blanket from the chair was the best thing that happened all day (apart from church).
Yes!
She's back to spending time in her office.
Wild kid with the usual strawberry shirt.

Rainy Day

It was rainy for much of the day, so Evangeline and I stayed in and enjoyed it. She even went to the farmers' market to get strawberries with dad in her pajamas.
If you just take a blanket around with you everywhere,
you can recline in comfort at a moment's notice.
I made some whipped cream for her blueberries.
She liked it ok.
Even a Baptized Lutheran (with requisite strawberry
stains on shirt) needs to take
a break to style her hair.

Well behaved women rarely make history.

We went to Ikea today to round up some finishing touches for the house. I think the expression for Evangeline's behavior is "holy terror." This is really the first time she has ever given us any guff. Seriously, its like she read some book about how children should misbehave while in public.

On a positive note, we went to Chipotle yesterday with my "office." I won a free lunch for my office there, due to my business card being drawn. So I rounded up several people who spend time doing things for the church as my office. Evangeline was eerily well behaved during this meal. She sat on my lap and ate a burrito and walked around and cheered up people's days.

Daredevil's Progress

After all this daredevil-ry, she even went down the "slidewinder" of her own accord. I didn't get that on video, but that's ok because it might have been too much daring for one blog post.

Here are a couple more from the park the other day. I especially like the last one. It shows how Evangeline doesn't really get it. She sat there blocking the way for all the kids for a few minutes. But the other kids were very nice and patient and didn't even knock her over.

Accessorizing

Exploring the world of matching handbag and outfit.
Plus a sock.

You no longer have to wonder what it must be like
to have your face tickled by monkeys.

Also, tonight Evangeline pointed to the crucifix on her wall and said "Jesus". We like that.

Misericordias Domini

After church, my ladies took a nap and I stained the floor in the house. I built this brick raised bed for tomatoes, since I don't have enough spots on the hanging tomato stand. After getting out mother's day dinner, we stopped by the home depot to get some dirt and manure. Evangeline helped me out putting these in the garden at the "new" house. The bricks are from the old foundation. They are useful things to have around. We should have a ridiculous harvest of tomatoes pretty soon. Although, we've got a good mix of determinate and indeterminate, so hopefully we can have a good balance all summer. How much composted cow manure are babies supposed to put in their mouths?
