A few days ago, Grandma E--"GG"--took a fall on the lawn. She had been snoozing in a chair in the sun and got up to go inside and made it across the lawn just to the sidewalk before she fell. We called the paramedics, and she went to the hospital, ending up with 16 stitches in her elbow but no broken bones or anything else more serious than a few bruises. Evangeline was very worried about GG going to the doctor, and was happy to have her return later that night, as we all were. I tell you this partly because it is simply a thing that happened and we are thankful that GG did not sustain any serious injury. I tell you also because I am always amazed at Evangeline's care for both her great grandmothers. She brings them snacks and other necessities like blankets and jackets, helps GG put on her shoes, and brings her her cane when she sees GG on the move. She hugs and kisses them lots and it is just so touching to see a sweet girl and her sweet great-grandmas.

She was surprisingly not thrilled to have the Yellowbird
in our driveway. |

Oh wait, Irene also got her two bottom teeth today. Party time.
Those great-grams are tough cookies. Probably because they're so well looked-after by people like Evangeline.
