wilkum to a new tradition

We have a new family tradition that is old as time. We pledge and declare the Friday before Memorial Day our Hanging Rock day. Henceforth this shall be forevermore known as Mietzner Family Hanging Rock Picnic Day with Popeye's Fried Chicken (half spicy, half regular) Dinner. Therefore be it known that any and all transgressions against the Day will be blogged about in the future. Respectfully submitted.
We did it! We didn't make it all the way up to the top this year, but went to the waterfalls and rock garden, which strangely enough, prohibited climbing and bouldering. What else are you supposed to do?

This was declared a humongous footprint from a krolar bear.

She still has a little bit of tough guy left.

And then I took them to the boring old playground today. Breaking news. Irene can swing without falling off.

We have approximately two cherries on the cherry tree.

We have approximately five peaches on the two peach trees.

But the tomatoes are really doing well on their hugelkultur bed. And the radishes... well... there are a ton of them.

This is "our own little garden." The phlox has quieted down, but the marigolds are really kicking out the jams.

And yes, I have been badgered into building a treehouse.

Wilkum.

  1. What darling pictures for a great tradition. And your garden looks terrific.
You will have a nice, small fruit salad too.
Dad says the "Battle of the tree houses" is on!
We love this collage of pictures. Thanks.
    Love from the Alaska Grands
